… if you remember, the prince, having successfully answered the three riddles set by princess Turandot, counters with a single question of his own – what is his name? The princess, desperate to avoid marriage to this unknown prince, decrees that no-one in Peking shall sleep that night; and that – unless his name is discovered – all will face the executioner!
