


Mozart, Lorenzo da Ponte and Pierre Beaumarchais; the composer, librettist and playwright responsible for the first of the three Mozart/da Ponte collaborations, La Nozze di Figaro [The Marriage of Figaro] K. 492, written in 1786.
The Beaumarchais play is entitled La Folle Journée [The Mad Day] and subtitled Le Mariage de Figaro and, as you will surely have guessed, the actions of both play and opera take place during the course of a single day.
